Felix, an unremarkable rabbit with an intense desire for wings, becomes the center of a brutal surreal odyssey through an anthropomorphic cityscape. METROPOCRE is an experimental shoot-’em-up that trades spaceships and clean arcade spectacle for animal characters, body-horror energy, and feverish psychedelic imagery. Its story-driven framing gives the action an uneasy purpose: every violent encounter feels like another step in Felix’s bizarre transformation. The mood is strange, abrasive, and deliberately uncomfortable rather than cute, despite its rabbit protagonist.

Gameplay revolves around surviving dense, fast-moving combat scenarios, blasting through enemies, avoiding incoming fire, and learning each stage’s hazards through repeated attempts. More than 27 levels provide a substantial arcade gauntlet, while six playable modes or characters change the angle of attack and encourage players to revisit familiar challenges. High-score tracking and an integrated speedrun timer make performance as important as simple completion, inviting players to refine routes, react faster, and chase cleaner clears. Difficulty is intentionally severe, with no continues to soften a failed run, so patience and memorization matter as much as reflexes.
