Tehran in 1978 is a city cracking under the weight of martial law, street protests, secret police, and competing visions of Iran’s future. You play Reza Shirazi, a young photojournalist returning home from Germany just as resistance to the Shah explodes into revolution. Rather than treating history as distant background, the story places you among families, activists, soldiers, and ordinary citizens forced to make impossible decisions. The tone is tense and intimate, with a grounded political drama that rarely offers easy heroes or clean answers.

Most of the experience plays like a choice-driven adventure, mixing conversations, exploration, quick interactive sequences, and occasional crisis-management scenes. Dialogue choices shape Reza’s relationships and determine how others remember his actions, while important decisions can carry consequences well beyond the immediate moment. Photography is more than a collectible hunt: Reza documents locations and events, then compares his images with real archival photographs that inspired the scenes. You also search environments for historical artifacts, videos, letters, graffiti, and testimony that add context to the upheaval without turning the game into a dry lesson.

Its strongest feature is the way personal stakes and documented history feed each other. Stylized visuals, motion-captured performances, and strong voice work make late-1970s Tehran feel lived-in, from crowded streets to underground meeting places and prison corridors. Branching scenes encourage a second playthrough, although the central narrative remains focused and cinematic rather than sprawling. Players who enjoy Telltale-style narrative adventures such as The Walking Dead, but want a real historical setting handled with more seriousness, find a compelling and educational drama here; action-first players may find its interactive moments too light.
