The game takes place way, way in the future, after Earth’s surface is basically unlivable. The last scraps of humanity are hanging out in the Underrail—a huge, underground network of metro station-cities. This place is like the last hope for civilization, but things are already looking pretty bleak as people fight just to survive.

There are multiple factions down there, each one clashing with the others as they try to carve out their place in the harsh underground world. Survival’s a struggle, and you’re right in the middle of it all, trying to navigate the mess and make it out in one piece.
