Game Overview

An abandoned Japanese high school becomes a maze of guilt, altered memories, and records that refuse to agree. You return to preserve the school’s cultural-festival archive before closure, only to find a class photograph, an impossible extra desk, and a message apparently written in your own hand. The mood is slow-burning rather than loud or action-heavy, using empty corridors, distant sounds, and small visual wrongness to create dread. Its horror comes from the unsettling possibility that somebody has been erased not only from official history, but from the protagonist’s mind.

Investigation drives the entire experience. Armed with a flashlight and a growing collection of documents, photographs, recordings, and clues, you search classrooms, offices, hallways, and overlooked corners for evidence concerning missing student Aoi Mizushima. Leads can be pursued in different orders, and revisiting locations matters as the passage from dusk into night changes lighting, weather, sound, and the reliability of familiar spaces. Puzzles are tied to school history and archival material rather than abstract lock-and-key obstacles, while optional discoveries flesh out the mystery and influence the outcome. There is no combat, so survival depends on observation, patience, and deciding which fragments of evidence deserve trust; desktop controls and optional OpenXR VR support offer two ways to investigate.

What distinguishes the experience from a straightforward haunted-school scarefest is its emphasis on institutional silence and the moral weight of witnessing. A shifted chair, footsteps that continue after you stop walking, or an audio trace that should not exist all work as clues as much as scares, reinforcing the central uncertainty around the school’s version of events. Three endings give the investigation some replay value, especially for players willing to hunt down hidden encounters and compare contradictory records. Fans of restrained psychological horror such as Silent Hill’s more introspective moments, or first-person investigations in the vein of The Painscreek Killings, should find plenty to appreciate, while newcomers who dislike combat-heavy horror can approach it comfortably.
