Restoring an area is only half the job, since later stages ask for specific biodiversity conditions that attract animals and complete the ecosystem. Once the landscape reaches its ecological targets, buildings must be recovered through a careful recycling chain, often forcing you to plan backwards so no vital power source or transport route disappears too early.

Procedurally generated maps keep the puzzle-solving fresh, while each region introduces different environmental constraints and restoration tools. Terra Nil’s strongest idea is its final act: success means leaving behind a self-sustaining wilderness instead of an ever-expanding empire, which gives every level a satisfying sense of closure.
