Murderous Pursuits

A lavish Victorian-era airship becomes the stage for a murderous game of manners, misdirection, and opportunistic violence. Murderous Pursuits is a multiplayer stealth assassination game where every player appears to be another well-dressed passenger—until somebody produces a blade, cane, or other suitably theatrical weapon. The tone is playful rather than grim, but the tension is real: you are constantly tracking a designated victim while trying to identify the hunter quietly closing in behind you. Winning is less about piling up quick kills than looking innocent while committing the most stylish, profitable murder possible.

Matches support one to eight players, with intelligent bots available for solo practice or filling out lobbies. In the central Hunt mode, the Quarry Tracker helps locate your target and the Hunter Indicator warns of danger, creating a circular chase that rewards awareness as much as stealth. You move through crowded rooms aboard the HMCS Britannic, copying passenger behavior, mingling at social events, collecting stronger weapons, and waiting for an isolated opening. Loud attacks and suspicious movement increase exposure, making it easier for enemies to recognize you, while onboard guards punish anyone caught killing in public. Disguise, flash, counter, and other selectable abilities add room for escapes, reversals, and clever setups, while perks let you tailor a killer toward mobility, deception, or scoring efficiency.

Its strongest idea is the balancing act between urgency and discretion. Waiting for a perfect kill earns greater rewards, but hesitation lets rivals score first, and a reckless strike can leave you vulnerable to your own hunter. Seven distinct locations, including bright social spaces and shadowy industrial areas, give each round useful sightlines, crowds, and ambush routes to learn. Free-For-All and Elimination modes broaden the formula beyond the target-chain format, while character archetypes and cosmetics reinforce the period-party atmosphere. Players who enjoy the social stealth of Assassin’s Creed multiplayer, or the suspicion-driven mind games of Deceit, find plenty to like here; newcomers can grasp the objective quickly, though reading crowds and identifying human behavior takes practice.
