Kraken Academy!!

A three-day school disaster becomes a sharp, strange adventure in which a talking magical Kraken recruits one student to expose a hidden traitor. Kraken Academy!! turns its campus into a colorful supernatural playground: ghosts haunt classrooms, cults operate under the playground, and crocodile attacks are somehow only one part of the daily schedule. The tone is gleefully absurd rather than frightening, with hand-drawn pixel art and offbeat dialogue giving every club, corridor, and side character a distinct personality. Beneath the comedy sits a genuine mystery, as someone at the school is steering events toward catastrophe.

Days run on a repeating schedule, and the central loop involves learning where people go, what secrets they keep, and which events need intervention before time resets. An enchanted amulet lets you rewind the three-day cycle and join a different school club on each run, opening separate storylines built around Music, Art, Sports, and Drama. Rather than relying on demanding combat, progression comes through exploration, conversations, item-based tasks, and following character routines closely enough to be in the right place at the right time. One loop may involve helping a band find its missing pieces, while another sends you investigating suspicious behavior, preparing an exhibition, competing in club challenges, or becoming involved in theatrical chaos.

Its strongest feature is how the time-loop structure supports a dense cast of bizarre but surprisingly memorable students and staff. Each club feels like its own mini-adventure, and their stories gradually make the academy feel less like a level to clear and more like a living school whose odd residents deserve saving. The presentation recalls retro Japanese adventure games, while the schedule-based investigation brings to mind the curiosity-driven structure of The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask, though with far less pressure and much more teen comedy. It suits players who enjoy narrative exploration, eccentric humor, and uncovering interconnected secrets at their own pace; action-focused players may find its largely non-combat approach too gentle.
