Set in a small rural neighborhood in early-1990s Japan, you play Makoto Hayakawa, a college student working the counter at a convenience store. The game’s charm lies in its ordinary moments: stocking shelves, arranging displays, cleaning up, and chatting with regulars. It’s a far cry from high-stakes action or complex management sims—here, progress is measured by the relationships you build and the stories you uncover.

We spent a solid afternoon with the game, and the first thing that struck us was the atmosphere. Warm lighting, soft stylized visuals, and the ambient hum of the store create a cozy, nostalgic vibe. The sound design is particularly good—the gachapon machine has that satisfying clunk, the door chime is just right, and the background chatter feels authentic. It’s the kind of game you can play with a cup of tea and lose track of time.
