In my testing, the game's world feels dense and tactile. Every abandoned building, factory, and subway tunnel is packed with loot—weapons, armor, food, and crafting materials. The V.A.T.S. system returns, letting you slow time, target specific body parts, and land critical hits, which adds a strategic layer to combat. Character perks shape your playstyle, whether you prefer stealth, heavy weapons, or charismatic dialogue options. Power armor turns you into a walking tank, though it guzzles fusion cores.

The settlement building mechanic is a standout feature. You can construct defenses, beds, shops, and entire towns for survivors, which adds a rewarding loop of resource management and creativity. The Commonwealth is more interactive than previous Bethesda worlds because nearly every piece of junk has a purpose—scrap it for materials to mod your weapons, upgrade your armor, or build new structures.

Companions bring their own personalities and approval systems, and major factions like the Brotherhood of Steel, Railroad, Minutemen, and Institute offer meaningful story paths.
