Dungeons of Blood and Dream

You play as a ruined Blood Wizard who wakes inside a Mind Prison, stripped of the power that once made him dangerous. The dungeons around you are shaped by a hostile dream, and escape depends on unreliable sleep magic, sharp steel, and the willingness to keep pushing deeper after every ugly death. The game's mood balances gruesome fantasy with unpredictable absurdity—potions, curses, and magical effects can turn a promising run into a disaster in seconds.

Each attempt sends you through procedurally assembled floors packed with enemies, treasure, traps, concealed passages, and boss encounters. Combat revolves around collecting and wielding a varied arsenal of bladed weapons while supplementing them with spells whose usefulness can depend on the situation and the run's random loot. Potions do not keep the same effects from one expedition to the next, so experimentation is essential rather than optional; a familiar-looking bottle may heal, hinder, or create an unexpected tactical opening.

Cursed rings add another layer of buildcraft, since their abilities change depending on which finger wears them, while permanent unlocks ensure that repeated failures still expand the options available for future escape attempts. The strongest idea here is the way it makes equipment identification and character-building feel deliberately unstable without removing long-term progression.
