A claustrophobic rented apartment becomes the entire battlefield for a dispossessed prince whose past refuses to stay buried. Dissolution of My Self is a short point-and-click psychological horror story built around Hector, an exiled royal trying to erase the memories that tie him to his uncle and caretaker, Matvey. Rather than monsters or sudden shocks, its dread comes from suffocating dependence, political ruin, and a relationship poisoned by love, resentment, obligation, and control. The tone is intimate, bleak, and often deliberately uncomfortable, with flashes of bitter humor cutting through the despair.

Players examine mundane items around Hector’s room—medicine, furniture, windows, electronics, and more—to unlock fragmented recollections and internal monologues. The order in which objects are inspected shapes the sequence and emotional rhythm of the revelations, allowing players to assemble their own interpretation of Hector’s unreliable narration, though the story ultimately leads to one ending. As memories surface and Hector attempts to discard parts of himself, familiar objects blur and lose their practical meaning, visually turning the room into a record of identity breaking apart. There is no combat, no resource management, and no puzzle-heavy progression; the central interaction is reading closely, noticing contradictions, and deciding how much faith to place in a damaged narrator.
