A stranded special operative fights to survive on an alien planet where dense forests, towering rock spires, and forgotten ruins conceal both answers and threats. After a crash leaves the expedition’s captain dying, the mission turns into a lonely search for a way forward through a colorful, low-poly science-fiction wilderness. The mood recalls the isolation and strangeness of classic cinematic adventures, but its pace is more action-oriented, mixing exploration with tense encounters. Deserted keeps its story environmental and mysterious, letting new locations, hidden routes, and scattered lore gradually explain the world around you.

Combat centers on an energy-generated Holo-Blade mounted to the protagonist’s arm, backed up by conventional firearms including pistols, rifles, and shotguns. Fights reward movement, timing, target awareness, and smart use of grenades or throwable gadgets, especially when enemy groups turn a simple path into an ambush. Exploration feeds directly into survival: players harvest plants and materials, then craft healing supplies, antidotes, ammunition batteries, and explosives rather than simply relying on drops. Different equipable modules open separate skill-tree options, allowing weapon upgrades, stat improvements, and specialized abilities to support a preferred close-range, gun-focused, or gadget-heavy approach. The full campaign also supports two-player local co-op, with male and female operative choices.

Deserted’s strongest idea is its refusal to separate adventure, character building, and resource gathering into disconnected systems; searching off the main route can provide the ingredients and upgrades needed for later challenges. Survival elements create pressure without leaning into harsh punishment, so attentive players who maintain their potion stock are not constantly fighting starvation or severe attrition. Its stylized visuals and alien solitude give it a different flavor from more realistic survival shooters, while the modular progression adds enough build flexibility to encourage experimentation.
