Boki’s superhero training takes place inside a noisy, colorful cyberspace simulation packed with hostile robots, oversized boss encounters, and absurdly powerful guns. Copy Kitty is a fast 2D action-platformer with the energy of classic run-and-gun games, but its cheerful presentation hides a demanding arcade edge. The story follows an eager would-be hero using her inventor uncle’s virtual combat program to prove she has what it takes. Expect screen-filling explosions, playful dialogue, and levels that frequently ask you to survive chaos rather than simply reach the exit.

Combat revolves around stealing weapon data from defeated enemies and combining it into new attacks on the fly. Boki can equip up to three copied powers at once, producing 175 deliberately designed weapon combinations, from practical rapid-fire blasters to bizarre projectiles that ricochet, split, swarm, or erase enemies in spectacular fashion. Stages mix platforming, combat arenas, environmental hazards, secrets, and bosses that reward learning attack patterns and bringing the right loadout. The pace starts accessible but grows substantially tougher, especially in later challenges where movement, weapon management, and target priority matter as much as reflexes. A substantial built-in editor also lets players create custom missions, alter level elements, and experiment with enemy and weapon setups.

What separates Copy Kitty from most retro-inspired shooters is how much personality sits inside its arsenal: copying powers is not a minor upgrade system, but the entire foundation of experimentation. Its bright pixel art, expressive character portraits, and manic effects make every successful combination feel distinct, while the hand-built campaign gives that variety a stronger purpose than a random loot system would. Creative players can spend a long time building and sharing their own combat scenarios, while score-minded action fans have plenty of difficult content to master. Anyone who enjoys the relentless shooting of Mega Man, Contra, or Metal Slug, but wants deeper weapon mixing and a more playful tone, finds plenty to like here; newcomers can enjoy the early campaign, though veterans get the most from its escalating challenge.
