As a brotherhood warrior grieving a devastating personal loss, he crosses a land where heaven's protection has failed and monstrous armies rule the wilds. His path leads through haunted villages, ruined castles, frozen mountains, and supernatural realms while the secretive Lords of Shadow hold the fate of humanity in their grasp. The mood is grand, gothic, and deliberately dramatic, with narration, orchestral music, and boss encounters that aim for dark fantasy spectacle rather than pure horror.

Combat revolves around Gabriel's Combat Cross, a chain-whip weapon used for rapid strikes, wide crowd control, grapples, and environmental interactions.
